·         History of the Raffle Tractor 

o       This year’s raffle tractor is a 1944 “C” Allis-Chalmers

o       Ed Karg has restored it

o       Very first tractors were available with steel wheels

o       After that they were equipped with rubber tires

o       Electric starter and lights were standard

o       Rear power take-off and clutch type pulleys came as an extra option

o       Hydraulic pump assembly added another $9.50

o       Hydraulic ram assembly was priced at $5.50

o       Prices rose substantially from 1940 – 1948

o       Priced at $595 in 1940

o       1948 listed at $980

o       Construction ended in 1950 when it was replaced with the “CA”

·         Andrew Morland will be at the Orange Spectacular this year

o       He is a world famous photographer from England

o       He has done most of the photos for Motorbooks International publications.

o       Edwin transported the tractor to the staging area in Mount Pleasant, Iowa

o       Three overseas containers were packed with tons of antique parts, machinery and tractors

1996 Orange Spectacular raffle tractor

·         Ted Nichols of Elk River winner of 1995 raffle tractor

·         $200 winner – A.B. Carlsted, Bloomington, MN

·         $100 winner – John Wagmon, Mound, MN

·         Toy Tractor – David Kagline, Darwin, MN

·         Video winner – Doug Wehr, Worthington, MN

·         First year for the kid’s sand box

WD owned by Jim Ringsrud. Drove from Ashton, Idaho to the Orange Spectacular. Tractor was shown in Litchfield, MN where Will Okeson, Marvin Asche and Bob Paulson drove it the last 200 miles. The Orange Spectacular received a lot of publicity from local newspapers and radio stations on the way over.
